Review the household income, business costs, reserves and uncertainty relevant to an employment decision. Compare staying, waiting and leaving; plan a handover only if you independently decide to leave.
Read the course direction, path, and a piece of the first lesson before joining. A free account includes a public record; paid membership opens full lessons and course progression.
This is part of the actual course, not a sales excerpt.
An income target is useful only if it reflects your actual household and business costs. It is a planning input, not an automatic resignation instruction.
1. Build a replacement budget
Start with actual household spending and net take-home income. List housing, food, debt repayments, dependants and other obligations. Identify employment-related costs that would genuinely stop, and costs that would continue or increase. Do not assume childcare, insurance or transport disappears when employment ends.
Keep salary, bank records and itemised household details privately. You can declare a relative or rounded target publicly without uploading the underlying documents.
2. Estimate business costs separately
Include operating expenses, tax, superannuation, insurance, equipment replacement, unpaid leave and a reserve for slow periods. Gross business revenue is not spendable household income. Estimate the revenue needed to cover those costs and the replacement budget; check your assumptions with suitable independent advice.
There is no universal salary percentage or 25% premium that makes this calculation correct. Write down your estimates, their sources and the range of uncertainty, then review them as actual costs become known.
3. Examine stability and downside
Review income over time, customer concentration, late payments, renewals, reserves and seasonal variation. Six months can be a useful observation window, but it is not proof of a stable future floor. One paid job is evidence of that transaction, not of an indefinitely sustainable business.
Test a downside scenario: what changes if a customer leaves, payment is delayed or you cannot work? Record what would need to change before you would reconsider your employment decision.
Your private deliverable
Use the next lesson's planning checks to support a decision review. Reaching a number, completing this lesson or recording payments does not direct you to resign.
Keep invoices and identifiable payment records private. A public record may contain a non-sensitive summary. A self-reported entry is not independent payment verification; verified platform receipts also do not establish profit or future income.
Paid membership adds the remaining lessons, course sequence, and lesson progress tracking. Your public record is available with a free account.
The guide and sample above are public. Create a free account for your record, then choose the A$30/month membership from your account's billing page for full FYMND-owned lessons. Already a member? Sign in.
Stage 1 opens first; completing its lessons opens Stage 2, and so on. Work privately and publish only optional, non-sensitive summaries. Lesson completion is not a verified outcome.
Lesson counts do not measure workload. Minute figures are supplied durations or reading estimates, not measured completion time. Practice and review may take longer; observation and response periods add elapsed calendar time.
